You’ve got your tattoo done, and now it’s time to take proper care of it. Don’t underestimate this! We’ve done our best work, and now we expect you to take care of yourself as well.

If we covered your tattoo after finishing it with standard cling film, follow these care instructions:

• 2–3 hours after finishing the tattoo, remove the film and wash the tattoo thoroughly with antibacterial soap (preferably solid soap) to remove excess Vaseline and blood plasma. It’s recommended to wash your hands thoroughly with the same soap beforehand. After unwrapping, the tattoo will feel greasy and slimy, which must be completely cleaned off. Don’t be afraid to press gently; you can repeat washing several times if necessary. Do not dry with a towel—use kitchen paper, a paper towel, or napkin. If possible, let the tattoo air-dry for a short while. Also, change your bed linen. Do not apply any ointment for the first two days.

• On the first day after tattooing, wash it very gently. Washings on this and the following days should be quick. Use only antibacterial soap; do not use other cosmetics. Washing must be gentle and very quick, as fresh tattoos do not like water. Only use the shower—no baths! Absolutely avoid swimming pools or saunas. Throughout the healing process, wear clean, loose, cotton clothing. Avoid dusty environments and limit contact with animals, especially do not let pets lick the tattoo. Also, avoid activities that increase sweating or strain (e.g., the gym). Do not expose the tattoo to sunlight for at least a month.

• On the second day, apply cream in a very thin layer by rubbing a small amount between your palms and gently patting it onto the tattoo in all directions. This keeps the tattoo moisturized while allowing it to breathe. This is crucial for proper oxygenation. Do not cover the tattoo with anything else—it needs to breathe.

• Apply cream intuitively. If the tattoo feels dry (slightly tight) or itchy, it’s time to apply cream. As time passes, the tattoo may itch more—do not scratch! Itching means it’s healing and needs cream. Apply a thin layer as many times as needed. After the protective layer peels off, continue applying calendula-based ointment, body cream, or shea butter once or twice daily for 3–4 weeks for final skin regeneration.

If we covered your tattoo with special artificial skin, follow these instructions:

This artificial skin protects your tattoo, so minimal care is required. Rinse it quickly with water once a day. If you feel you need to remove it earlier, do so in the shower under running water. Keep the artificial skin on for no more than 7 days. After removal, wash off all adhesive residue with solid antibacterial soap, washing your hands thoroughly beforehand. From this point, follow the care instructions above.

Tattoo care does not end here—take care of your skin for life, and it will reward you not only with a beautiful tattoo but with healthy skin.
